The 1090 was for many years the high performance standard for HPLC. Developed by HP-Labs, the system was the apex of precision and stability in flow rate control. Combining dedicated metering pumps for each solvent channel with a high-pressure booster pump, the DR-5 solvent delivery system is still considered by many to be the best overall HPLC pump design. Excellent control at low flow rates still make the 1090 an ideal system for narrow bore HPLC. Combining this feature with the powerful diode array detector option, gives laboratories the opportunity to acquire sophisticated capabilities at a fraction of the cost of a new system.
